Endless Summer

I had the idea that we should invite other artists to do cover versions of Jim’s songs as a promotion tool for the Druidspear event in Birmingham on July 16th. I plumped for  Endless Summer, with a very different take on the song, compared to the Druidspear version on the Gotterfunken Vol.1. EP. In the end, with only a couple of weeks to go to the gig, I couldn’t free up time to get up to Neil in Scotland to get the vocals recorded. So, in his usual trooper style, bless his cotton socks, Neil sang them straight into the phone! I do love him.

So, for promotional purposes only…

Spent some time down by the  dark pool, to see the star reflected in stone

spent some time out in the wild wood, to get the feeling you’re not alone

Chorus

and in the darkest  depths of winter, when the hurt inside you starts

and the icy winds they blow through you,  keep alive a little flame in your heart

Verse

come now be with me beside the ocean, laughing in the sparkling sand

show me the secrets of the rock pool, hold aloft a little shell in your hand

Chorus

and  in the darkest depths of winter, when the hurt inside you starts

and the icy winds they blow through you, keep alive a little flame in your heart

Refrain

and the breeze through the trees….
